TiggerTigger's motto: It's a jungle out there.
Tigger liked people but got scared and ran behind my bed whenever he heard someone outside my door. If the visitor stayed for a while, Tigger would cautiously appear later to investigate. Tigger loved to lie in a sunny spot indoors, but he was afraid to go outdoors, even if I held him in my arms. Even the sound of taking his harness out would send him into hiding. He could back out of the harness most of the way, and he probably could have escaped if I let him. Cat harnesses seem to be designed only to keep the cat from moving forward. Tigger also was a biter. When I first got him, he thought I didn't like him because I kept scolding him for biting. Because he never bit me hard enough to break my skin, I decided I could live with the bites. I discovered the best way to make him stop biting was to rub him under his chin, which he loved. Tigger was an only cat for five years. Then I adopted another brown tabby, Tasha. Tasha liked to grab toys away from Tigger. Tigger usually let Tasha take his toys and food. When he was feeling playful, he would creep up on Tasha and try to bite her tummy. Tigger will always be my favorite cat. He was a great snuggler. He didn't really sit on laps--he would get up close and plaster himself against me. It was difficult to read a book when Tigger wanted to snuggle. Tigger died October 12, 2001. Christmas 1994
